| Bonjour à toutes et tous
Toujours à l'affût de sujets hors du commun, j'avais déjà repéré "1938 a very British civil war"
Voyez ici le descriptif des livrets ...
Qui, où, quand ? => In 1936, Britain's playboy King Edward VIII, thought by some to have far-right sympathies and a propensity for meddling in politics, abdicated in order to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson. In the 'A Very British Civil War' universe he refuses to give up the throne.
By 1938, parliament is dissolved, torn apart by the resultant constitutional crisis. The King appoints Oswald Mosley, leader of the British Union of Fascists, as Prime Minister. Opposition to the new government forms around the Anglican League - a loose coalition of churchmen, disgruntled members of parliament and left-leaning political groups.
Attacked by regular forces loyal to the King and their BUF auxiliaries, the Anglican League militarises, as do communist organisations, local defence volunteers and a whole host of disparate groups. Scotland closes its border and declares itself independent, nationalists take up arms in Wales and Cornwall, and the British Empire begins to crumble.
Héhé, ça commence fort mais voyons la suite ...
Plantons le décor !

The Fall of the Empire.
This volume looks at how the civil war plays out in the Empire. As well as the usual faction rivalry, a weak Empire invites the attention of independence movements, dictators, and ambitious imperial powers. India , the Americas, Middle East, East Africa and the Far East are amongst the areas included.

A guide to Tanks and Military Vehicles This volume is a guide to some of the diverse and at times down right strange vehicles that can be found in 1938 VBCW campaigns. The introduction briefly explains pre-war ideas about the uses of tanks and armoured vehicles and goes on to show how the war changed their use. Brigadier 38
For the first time we have produced a specific set of rules for the period. These are aimed at creating large multi- player battles while retaining the charm and character that has made this project endearing to many wargamers Now with a group of friends, a good curry and a few pints, you have a fast play set of rules that will allow you to storm the defences of Liverpool, raid over the border or lead gallant cavalry charges in the Severn valley. Brigadier 38 as the name implies gives each commander a brigade, where a company is 10 figures, and a battalion of 30-60. The rules cover- orders, movement, firing, morale and melee, along with a points guide to provide suitable forces for battles and scenarios

"Let joy fill ev'ry Briton's heart, For now the Country's gone to make it! At last , a King that looks the part, At last, a Queen that looks good naked!
Blackadder, Blackadder, a Monarch with panach, Blackadder, Blackadder, he's got a nice moustach..." | |
